PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (about 67% Ni – 23% Cu) that is resistant to sea water and steam at high temperatures as well as to salt and caustic solutions.

Monel 400 (Monel 400, N04400) is a nickel-copper alloy with first-class corrosion resistance to a variety of reducing media, and also has certain mechanical properties. Monel400 has particularly excellent corrosion resistance against air-free hydrofluoric acid, neutral and alkaline salt solutions.

Monel 400 is used for uranium refining and isotope separation in nuclear fuel production. It is a standard material for the concentration and crystallization of salt solutions, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) production, MDI and TDI production, and petroleum refining. Monel 400 is also used to manufacture feedwater heaters and steam generator heat transfer tubes, sheathed pipes and platform steel columns used in offshore oil and gas production. Monel 400 alloy is certified for use in pressure vessels with operating temperatures between -10 and 425°C (18 and 797°F). Monel400 alloy has good corrosion resistance against stress corrosion caused by aluminum elements. Monel400 maintains excellent strength at low temperatures. Monel400 (N04400) is easier to process than other high alloy materials.
